Circus Theme Party Ideas

Is there a little ring-master in your family? Circus parties are such a blast for children of all ages. Not only do they provide a colorful atmosphere, but there are so many terrific ideas that go along with this creative theme. But if you are at a loss of ideas, there is no need to worry because the following are some of the best ideas that you can come up with.

First things first, you need some jaw-dropping invitations to set the mood. Just make sure that the invitations match with the decorations inside and you are set! Having a clown face or even a cute circus animal on the cover would be a great idea. But that is just the easy part. The hard part is finding all the fun decorations and entertainment.

Bring out the big tent and crazy animals! Party entertainment may seem overwhelming at first, but is does not have to be a chore; make it a fun mission that you and your child can tackle together! One fun option would be to actually rent out circus animals, nothing too dangerous like lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Something simple like maybe having a snake-tamer come in or some exotic birds.

Hiring a clown to make balloon animals is another fabulous idea that is easy and fun for everyone! You can also set out a low balance beam and have guests pretend they are like a daring tight-rope walker. Crack the whip and pretend to be a lion-tamer or lift huge pretend weights and be a body-builder! Displaying a big circus tent in the back yard would also be a thrill, and having cute games in the tent, like fishing for ducks in a baby pool or horseshoes, would be perfect and simple, so kids of all ages could play! Make sure to have many balloons and party hats! Another important thing to remember is to have circus snacks, like popcorn, peanuts, and cotton candy always on hand.

Decorations are easy for this theme. Balloons, fun colors, big tents, and the famous three rings are the basics to any circus theme. Hula hoops make for great rings, and you can set up an activity like putting up the big tent. Any little game to get the kids involved would be great, and include some fun circus music (you can buy a fun circus CD or even set up some instruments and make a band).

The birthday cake must also be perfect. A circus cake is easy to make, and there are so many designs that coincide with the theme. A tent cake, clown cake, or even a trapeze artist cake would work perfectly! Fun favors involving food also work, like ordering fun circus candy bar wrappers that are personally labeled for your child's party.

Speaking of food, you have to have a circus-themed menu! That does not mean that it has to be gourmet or anything, just fun and circus-y! Hot dogs, soft pretzels, and fun treats like cotton candy make for a simple but exciting menu that does not break the bank.

You do not have to break the bank to have an out-of-this-tent circus party! And you definitely do not have to have a melt down trying to plan it all. Just relax and think circus! Hopefully this will give you a few simple ideas to have the best party in town!
