Spongebob Theme Party Ideas

Adults and children alike know of the yellow sponge that lives in a pineapple under the sea - none other than the energetic, hyperactive and optimistic Spongebob Squarepants, of course. With such popularity, it is no surprise if you children want to recreate Bikini Bottom on land and, besides, you will like it, too. Here then are Spongebob theme party ideas that can make even the cheapskate Mr. Krabs proud while making the Spongebob in all of us happy.

Yellow Pineapple Invitations

At the start, you can afford to be obvious with your Spongebob party since the lovable sponge has no time for subterfuge. You can make your pineapple-shaped invitations out of yellow construction paper, paste cut-outs of Spongebob on the front and print the details of the party inside. You can use words like: "You are invited to a party in the pineapple number (your complete address) at Bikini Bottom with dive date on (date of party)"

Bikini Bottom Décor

A Bikini Bottom décor is perhaps one of the best Spongebob theme party ideas. After all, what better way to evoke Spongebob than to recreate his beloved city? Well, of course, this does not mean that you have to recreate every feature of Bikini Bottom complete with mountains, caves, lakes and desert wastelands as well as the city. Instead, you can cut up familiar things in the Spongebob universe from various colored construction paper like pineapples, jellyfish, seaweeds, seashells, crabs, lobsters and the ubiquitous flowers in the sky. You can then hand them on the fence with a small net as backdrop.

You can recreate the tropical look of Bikini Bottom with your palm trees and some long ribbons, which you can string between two trees. Place sand beside a kiddie inflatable pool to evoke the seaside. As for activities, you can substitute pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey with pin-the-pants-Spongebob. Or you can play the game of catch the jellyfish using small handheld nets and toy jellyfish thrown in the air, which the kids will have to catch ala Spongebob.

Krusty Krab Food

Now, Spongebob theme party ideas will not be complete without mention of the food at the Krusty Krab. You can make a menu that centers on the Krabby patty - hamburgers and cheeseburgers, what else! These are easy to make and you can add healthy ingredients like chopped vegetables.

To provide variety, you can add fish sticks and French fries served with ketchup, goldfish crackers, fruit kebabs and vegetable pizza. Don't forget to serve dessert because Spongebob loves it, too, starting with easy-to-make ice cupcakes covered on yellow frosting. Or you can just serve cake shaped like Spongebob with smaller Patrick cake, Squidward or Mr. Krabs cake with the smallest cake for Plankton. And to wash it all down, you can whip up either pineapple juice or red fruit punch or both. After all, yellow is for the lovable sponge and red is for the crusty crab.

With all these Spongebob theme party ideas, you can indeed make the little Bikini Bottomers and their parents enjoy their time at your kid's party. Now, that is a swell time in more ways than one.

Birthday party themes are amazing when they are put together properly. There are so many accessories that can be incorporated into the themes such as theme pinatas, theme cakes, loot bags and even theme costumes.
