Christmas Party Ideas for Kids

In many ways, Christmas Day is for kids. For one thing, they get excited over Santa Claus and his elves and reindeers. For another thing, they still have the innocence to look at the holidays with joy and anticipation in their hearts. You can make the holidays more exciting for them through these Christmas party ideas for kids. Or even if it is not yet the Christmas holiday, you can turn a birthday party Christmas-y!

Christmas Carnival

How cool is combining the spirit of Christmas with the merriment of a carnival? Of course, you need not install a roller coaster ride since even a simple Maypole will do. The important part is that the kids will have something to play on that will mimic the carnival like an indoor see-saw. And in the spirit of the carnival, you can even organize a parade with the children in their carnival costumes filled with feathers and fluff. Or at least, how you envision a carnival costume in winter will look like. Don't forget to string the lights. You want to capture the bright lights of the carnival while setting the mood for Christmas with twinkling lights mimicking the stars.  You can give the kids one of these Christmas candy bar wrappers personalized just for them.

Snow Party

What is Christmas without powder-white snow? In fact, these is one of the more practical Christmas party ideas for kids since the invitations, decorations, food and party favors will follow just one theme - white snow. Your invitations can be any Christmas color except that the main attraction is a snowman. Or perhaps a snowman-shaped invitation will do. Then move on into snowman-themed decorations like a smiling snowman greeting guests outside, snowmen hanging from the ceiling ala snowflakes and plastic snow globes on the buffet table.

As for food, choose from among many white foods with touches of color. Think carrot cake, snowman-shaped individual cakes decorated with colorful sprinkles and buttons, and milk shake, to name a few. And don't forget your snowflake-themed party favors like marshmallows, peppermint stick and white cookies.  This party favor idea or these snowmen candy wrappers will be perfect to give out to the kids as party favors.  This Snowman cake will also be the perfect addition to your snow party.

Santa Party

Yet another Christmas party ideas for kids that is easy to prepare but big fun to do is a Santa party. This way, you can incorporate the most joyous color of the season - red, what else - without appearing to go overboard with it and without being too Valentine's Day.

You can ask the kids to dress up as Santa Claus and give them red invitations with Santa's smiling face and the words "On this day, you will become Santa's helper". As for the decorations, you can place ornaments and furniture that will evoke Santa's workshop in the North Pole. Think craft tables filled with all sorts of things to do, some toys to play with, and some play tools.

If you have old reindeer figures in the attic, you can them out and display them. These will add a more authentic ambience to the surroundings, not to mention that it will be fun for the children to play the game of pin-the-tail on the reindeer.

Here are some Santa candy wrappers that are  sure to delight the children when they receive them as their own special Christmas party favors.  You can even make this adorable Santa Claus cake that will look as good as  it tastes, or you may want to choose one of the other holiday cake designs to make for your Christmas party.

With these Christmas party ideas for kids, organizing a party anytime of the year with Christmas in mind is easy-peasy, as the Brits like to say it. Besides, Christmas Day is in itself an inspiration!

1st Birthday Supplies @ 11:17 pm

It is good to see a site that has great ideas regarding christmas party ideas, but we also need to remember that December is not just about Christmas as some children have birthdays in December to.

What a great party plan that would incorporate not only a christmas party but a birthday party all together in one. This would already have the family together and why not make is a double whammy!
