Graduation Party Ideas
High school graduation is an important milestone in every student's life. Throw a party for your graduate that they'll fondly remember for a lifetime. Your graduate will feel special for an entire day while she visits with friends and family who have come to share his or her special day. Choosing a theme for your graduate's party will make decorating, planning the food and the cake much easier. Ask your graduate what he/she might want and then run with it! Here are a few ideas for creating a unique and memorable graduation party.
GUEST BOOK
Every graduate should have a guest book signed by his or her friends and family. Instead of the traditional guest book from the store, why not create your own? Provide scrapbook pages for each guest to sign and write a personal message to the graduate. Later, you could add a picture of that person or group of people next to their signature and message. Your graduate will have a keepsake they'll treasure for years to come.
Does your graduate do everything with flair? Create a large "diploma" using a long length of white butcher paper and attach it to a wall (make sure there's something behind it to protect the wall surface). Color it or add cut out pieces to attach to make it look like an unrolled diploma. Have the graduates' name, school and year at the top. Have all the guests sign it as they arrive! This will be a very unique keepsake!
WHERE ARE YOU HEADED?
Most graduates have several friends, (who are also graduating); drop in to see them during their graduation party. Post a large map of the USA (or world map) on one wall. Have each graduate who visits put their name and the college they'll be attending or their place of employment on a small disk or piece of paper. Then, with map pins, have them pinpoint the location on the map that they'll be headed to once summer is over. It's a great way for your son or daughter to keep track of his/her friends, no to mention great conversation starters with family members.
SCHOOL COLORS
Decorate with school colors using streamers, mini lights, balloons, posters, and high school memorabilia. Do you have a creative graduate? Ask him or her to create a display board with pictures that highlight their growing up years, from infant to senior picture. Be sure to include special mementos and achievements as well. This display could be located next to the gift table for friends and family to see. This is especially nice for those family members who aren't able to visit very often.
FOOD FARE
Serve all of your graduate's favorite foods to honor him/her on this special occasion. Punch is always a classy touch to any party, but feel free to serve soda, juice and bottled water too. There is practically no end to the types of graduation party cakes you could create or purchase. Consider baking one at home in the shape of a diploma, or graduation cap. Here are some great ideas for graduation cakes that you can make. The graduation cake can be just about anything you want and can even be and often times is just a simple sheet cake. Or, if you purchase one at the store, take in a picture of your graduate to put on the cake along with a personal message to him/her.
GRADUATION PARTY FAVORS
Another thing that you may want to consider for your graduation party is party favors to hand out to your guests as a way of saying thank you for coming and celebrating the special occasion with you. These graduation candy wrappers make the perfect graduation party favors because they are inexpensive, but look awesome and your guests will love receiving them because most everyone loves chocolate. Here is another design of graduation candy bar wrappers that you may prefer. They even have a matching graduation party invitation. If you would like to add a photo of the graduate to make them even more personalized, then here is the perfect graduation party favors that you are perfect for personalizing with not only whatever text you would like, but also a picture of the honored graduate.
The most important thing to remember is that your graduate feels special on this day. Take a lot of photographs of him or her to create photo memories of the occasion. This is the kick off for them attending college or launching themselves into the "big world", so make it a fun and exciting time for your graduate.
