Make Them Remember You

People who are in business for themselves understand the value of familiarity.  In order to keep the clients you have worked hard to get, and gain new clients, you have to be remembered.  In order to be remembered, you have to think outside the box.  Ever heard the phrase “people do business with people they know”?  Well, that’s absolutely true.  It’s true to such an extent that people think they know you even when they don’t if you market yourself correctly.

Here is one unique way you can market yourself over and over again in a way that people will really notice and also really appreciate.  Candy!  That’s right, using candy bar wrappers as your new business card, you can become the person in your industry that people know.  It doesn’t matter what you do for a living.  You can be a hair dresser who keeps a bowl of miniature chocolate bars at your station.  If the miniature candy bar wrappers feature a memorable hairdressing theme and your personal information, then you’re in.

You could even tell your clients to take a few to hand out to their friends.  When they open up the candy bar wrappers holding that oh-so-good chocolate, they will notice your name and remember it.  When you are seeking new business, this is a great way to go about getting noticed.  No matter what you do for a living, new clients are important to your business.  Using the clients you already have, and some memorable personalized candy wrappers, you’ve got yourself one heck of a great marketing department!

To be remembered by clients you already have, you can keep a batch of personalized candy wrappers handy all year round, and send each client a message from you on their birthday.  Again, it doesn’t matter what sort of business you are in.  Realtors can use a golden key personalized candy wrapper; other professions can just choose something with an elegant pattern.  The point is to have a personal message from you that your clients will ohh and ah over.  Can you imagine the surprise a person would display upon opening a package containing a personalized candy wrapper full of yummy chocolate from their tax guy?

Business is all about maintaining a personal relationship with your clients.  Remember that even if you regularly service someone for a long time, they are constantly inundated with offers from other professionals, other services.  Women share their hairdressers’ names and numbers all the time.  Everyone has a friend of a friend who sells real estate.  The point is, if you don’t do something uniquely special to keep your name in front of your clients, you run the risk of losing them even if you always provide them with good service.

People do business with people they know.  Using this one-of-a-kind approach, you can be the one they remember over time.  Be “The Candyman” or the “Candy Lady” of your local area.  If it gets you noticed and remembered, it’s well worth it
