Monster Truck Birthday Party Ideas

My little boy is about to turn six, and has a fascination matched by no other with Monster Trucks.  I don’t promise to understand this passion, but I am willing to accommodate it for his birthday.  I have searched far and wide for fun ideas, since I am not one to go for the plain birthday cake.  Themed parties are great fun, and getting everyone involved will make it a memorable event.  Here are some of the ideas I’ll be using.  Feel free to use these yourself, or modify them to fit your plans.

Monster Truck Decorations

For the entryway, have the event denoted with monster flags.  Hang race flags and signs outside indicating your house as the party site.  Have the children arrive wearing racing gear of their favorite drivers, or make it an activity for them to create a picture of their favorite trucks.  Get everyone in the mood with a sign that welcome everyone to “Monster Jam!”

Monster Truck Party Food

For the birthday spread, use a checkered tablecloth, adorned with Monster Jam colored balloons.  If you’re making food, grill hamburger “tires” with holes cut out of the middle.  Kids will go crazy for this.  You can serve Tail Pipe salad (Macaroni Salad), and finish it off with a cake made with fun designs.

Monster Truck Birthday Cakes

Embellish your cake with things like chocolate chips for the tires, and maybe a mint center.  You are not limited to frosting.  Here is a really neat monster truck birthday cake that you can make. It includes instructions to make it easy. Here is another monster truck cake that is sure to be a hit as well. Yet another idea if you don't want to make the cake itself a monster truck is to make a cake similar to this monster truck arena birthday cake. That should give you plenty of ideas to get you started.

Monster Truck Games

When it’s time for games, use some borrowed tires to keep the theme going outside.  Have an obstacle course set up if there’s enough tires, or use one suspended to throw a toy through.  As a variation of “Pin the Tail on the Donkey”, have each child try to get a license plate on the back of a car or truck cut out.   Have them “smash” the piñata derby style.

Once you have everyone all revved up, it’s time to send them home.  While waiting for parents, you can have them watch the monster truck rally on TV.  For another option, you can set up a Monster Truck Center where they can crash cars inside until mom and dad arrive.   Being able to get away with crashing cars inside will be a big novelty.

Monster Truck Party Favors

Make sure to give them a goody bag full of fun memories from the party.  Fill it with a monster truck, monster truck tattoos, and stickers.  The boys (and even girls) will have a day they will remember and talk about for a long time. Here are plenty of birthday candy wrappers that are sure to work well for the occasion. Here are specially designed and very popular monster truck candy wrappers that are absolutely perfect for the occasion.

Knowing you have given your child his dream birthday will make you feel like the hero.  These moments disappear too soon.  I can’t believe we’re already to six!  I wonder what birthday party number seven will be…
